Typing the Copyright Symbol on A Mac

I was having a heckva time figuring out how to type the copyright symbol in Gimp on my Powerbook. For some reason, copying the symbol from somewhere else and pasting it in doesn't want to work.

Here's the keyboard shortcut: hold alt/option & press g.

On some decorative fonts, it will appear as a box, because the font maker didn't include it. If that happens, switch to a more common font just for the copyright symbol.

And if that doesn't work, here's a longer approach that has a higher success rate.

I must have tried typing in 4 different Wingding fonts to find this before Googling the answer. Thanks for posting this!

I couldn't seem to make the shortcut work in Final Cut when adding text, so I went through your longer process. But I couldn't drag the icon from the palette into Final Cut. I had to drag the symbol into a Text Edit Doc, then copy and paste it from there to Final Cut.

But you steered me in the right direction. Thank you for that!

If you go to your keyboard viewer and hold option, ctrl, or the command button it shows you the different combinations of buttons for different symbols
