Getting naked and fighting battles

One of our newborn kitties. Want one?

Last night i ran 3 miles. Not bad for a computer programmer, eh? I don't think i've ever run more than 2 miles, even when i was in high school track. It was satisfying after i finished running last night that i wasn't completely exhausted. I'm thinking of participating (notice i didn't use the term 'competing') in a local race.

My current fitness routine invovles a combination of yoga and tai chi along with some exercises from my physical therapist. Looking for a more structured regimen, i ordered The Naked Warrior and Stretching & Flexibility. I'm excited to change-up my routine once these books arrive.

The Naked Warrior book reminds of another book i enjoy: Scholar Warrior, which is great read for anybody wanting to live a Taoist lifestyle. I might also add that The Chronicles of Tao by the same author is great motivator for those struggling with maintaining a daily meditation practice. The book is a semi-fictional account of a Taoist master and his trials and amazing revelations throughout life.

In other news, cori and are i travelling to omaha this weekend to see our favorite rock star and probably play some old-school video games via the local arcade. Well, my wife will actually play 'Dance Dance Revelution' while wander off to the upper level for a couple rounds of tetris, pac-man, donkey kong, etc.
