Ergonomic workstation

I've been trying to focus more on better posture and hand movements. For example, a colleague of mine suggested using my mouse with my less dominant hand. I've also taken up special hand exercises and am trying different keyboards.

Workrave

I use a GNU application to help me with breaks and exercises. It is called workrave, and is available for windows and linux (gtk, but works under KDE too). Its coolest feature is that during the microbreaks it gives you exercises, for your eyes, arms, neck, hands etceteras. really worthwile to have a look at.
I9t can be annpying in the begining that it tells yuo to stop, because taht always happens just when you are doing something taht can't wait, but once you are used to it, it can really save you your arms, wrists and hands. I got rid of my upcoming RSI, simply by using this app.

Workrave

Thanks bèr! That is indeed a great tool.

Posture

Been having some serious back trouble from too many years hunching over keyboards but have recently been seeing an Alexander Technique practitioner. The lessons are slow but, with effort, it's definitely been worth it - no back trouble - even the irritating stiff neck I get (result of a car accident years ago) gives me less trouble now than it used to.

Patrick
